Downtown Music Publishing strikes global deal with Double P Records, home to 5 x Platinum Latin-certified Peso Pluma

Downtown Music Publishing (DMP) today announces a global music publishing agreement with Double P Records, the label and publishing arm founded by George Prajin and 5 x Platinum Latin-certified Música Mexicana artist Peso Pluma.

The partnership sees Downtown Music Publishing providing full global administration and sync placement across Double P Records’ current and future releases as well as administration for Peso Pluma’s own publishing interests, including his latest double album, ÉXODO which has garnered over 86 million streams on Spotify since its release in June 2024 and debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200.

Launched in April 2023 in collaboration with Prajin Parlay Inc, Double P Records is the brainchild of GRAMMY winner and eight-time Billboard Latin Music Award winner, Peso Pluma and George Prajin. Double P Records is home to some of Música Mexicana’s biggest songwriters, including Peso Pluma, Jasiel Nunez, Estevan Plazola, and Jesús Roberto Laija García (Tito Double P) who sits under Prajin Music Publishing.

Trailblazing artist Peso Pluma boasts 52 million monthly Spotify listeners, making history as the first Mexican artist to top the ‘Daily Top Artists Mexico’ chart. He is widely known as a leading figure in championing the resurgence of Corridos - a genre that blends traditional Mexican Corridos with modern influences, specifically Trap, Hip-Hop and Reggaeton.

Peso Pluma’s latest album ÉXODO was the biggest debut by any Mexican artist on Spotify.
With over 29 million streams in the first 24 hours of release, ÉXODO became the highest first-day streamed album on Apple Music. His previous album "GÉNESIS" also broke streaming records, earning him his first GRAMMY® nomination and win for Best Música Mexicana Album in 2024. The artist has also seen significant sync placements over the last few years, including a recent Apple TV placement for the League Cup.

The groundbreaking artist rose to fame in 2022 with “El Belicon,” Peso’s collaboration with Raul Vega which saw an 8× Platinum certification by the RIAA and 10 million YouTube views within three days. Following hits included “AMG” and “PRC,” “and his collaboration with Eslabon Armado, “Ella Baila Sola” became the first regional Mexican song to reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 4.
